Along with other group members, Steve is helping recruit new volunteers during 2016/17 to help move the community project into its next phase of development.
Update (Nov 2016): Tegan and Danielle have also started working as volunteers on the social media and video production team at Film at the Folk Hall. A warm welcome to the family and enjoy the ride!
There are many reasons why people volunteer to support a community project. Here are a few that you should consider.
- For the sheer fun of it!
- Be part of the ever expanding community film movement in the UK. You will love it!
- Become a valued member of a great team
- Spend quality time away from a busy work schedule
- Meet new friends
- Learn new skills and knowledge
- Give something back to the local community
Who do we need?
All kinds of folks! Do you have skills in fundraising or want to learn from experienced professionals how to fundraise?
Can you spare a few hours once a month to be an usher on the film nights? It’s a great chance to socialise as well as help our visitors and members enjoy their night out.
How about becoming a press officer for us or the new website manager? Or a writer on the new blog?
You can check out, and apply for, our most recent volunteer position on our ‘Do-it’ page– there’s always something to do so if these don’t take your fancy then just get in touch.
What is the commitment?
Come and try us out. The idea is to enjoy the experience first of all. The project is run by volunteers so all that is required is enthusiasm and ideas. The hours you can commit to are flexible and entirely dependant on your availability and willingness to see the project through, month by month.
Contact us by dropping in, phoning up or using our email contacts. We look forward to meeting you to see if you would love to be part of the team.
