Wow. What an emotional movie The Danish Girl was! It was incredibly poignant and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. To see someone battling so hard for transformation nearly 80 years ago sends a very powerful message across time for me.
Whatever you believe, look like or feel inside you should be free to express that on your own terms if it is borne out of love and respect. In such a time of uncertainty for many people in our community it felt lovely to be part of something wholesome and inclusive.
From the introduction from the Joseph Rowntree LGBT network, to the enjoyment of the film itself by all who attended, was a humbling experience and made me feel lucky to be a volunteer with Film at the Folk Hall.
